2/14/10: "Sarah's Story":
"My family attended the dinner and it was absolutely amazing. I know there were a lot of people who worked very hard to make this a success - Scott Kinney, Wanda Gilbert, Kim Gabriel, etc. You don't know what having this opportunity meant for my family. We don't often get the opportunity to go out as a family, especially lately as my daughter, Peyton, recently spent nearly 2 weeks in the hospital. When we do go out to eat, it's challenging. Sometimes even stressful. From the moment we arrived at the doors of the church until the moment we got to our car to go home, we felt loved, accepted, cared for, special, etc. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that our evening was special and that we were taken care of. We did not have to worry about Peyton if she might become fussy or make noises that sometimes kids with special needs make. We didn't have to feel awkward at all about being in public with a child in a wheelchair who perhaps looks a little different than other children her age. You have some incredibly special people working and volunteering at Seacoast and I want you to know how much we appreciate each and every one of them." -Sarah Fontenot
12/6/09: "Dianne's Story":
"Just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to volunteer at the Christmas party. A little chilly that night, but it warmed my heart to watch the guests be able to freely walk around within the safety of the volunteers. I'm sure the relatives of these guest were thankful to have a place to celebrate, knowing their love ones were accepted, loved and cared for.
It was joyous to see everyone included in the manger scene knowing that God intended it to be that way. I think it was David dancing in the background, happy as could be that really showed the true meaning of Christmas. He wasn't happy because of presents under the tree but simply for being able to dance in the cold of that night. His smile was a gift to me, that I can still see reminding me to be thankful for the simple things in life. I think I might have to try dancing on a cold winter night!
Thanks to everyone who allowed me to see the real meaning of Christmas"
